We are seeking an experienced General Dentist for an available contract opportunity at to provide services to eligible beneficiaries of the 355th Medical Group/Dental Squadron (MDG), Medical Treatment Facility (MFT), at Davis-Monthan AFB (DMAFB), AZ.

Available Positions: General Dentist

Place of Performance: The contractor shall provide personal services to eligible beneficiaries of the 355th Dental Squadron (355 DS), in the 355th Medical Group (355 MDG) Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), at Davis-Monthan AFB (DMAFB), AZ.

Work Schedule:  Contractor employee(s) duty hours will be based on MTF and Air Force mission requirements. Contractor employee(s) shall perform services in nine (9) hour shifts, which include a one (1) hour unpaid meal break, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Squadron Commanders, or designated representatives, reserve the right to adjust contractor employee(s) duty hours as needed to meet mission requirements. Contractor employee(s) duty hours shall not exceed 40 hours per week. If a contractor employee is in the middle of patient care at the end of their duty day, the employee shall continue to perform services on that patient until patient care is completed, at no additional cost to the Government.
Description of Services:
Dental practice, management of patients, and dental prescriptions accomplished in accordance with applicable Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) clinical practice guidelines and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations/Health Service Inspection (JCAHO/HSI) standards and instructions set forth in facility where privileges are awarded.
Examine, diagnose and treat disease, abnormalities, injuries and dysfunctional disorders of the oral cavity and its associated structures.
Examine patients and interpret radiographs and diagnostic tests to determine type and extent of dental diseases and disabilities or dysfunctions.
Evaluate findings and prescribe type, extent, and order of treatment. Refer non-dental problems to appropriate medical specialty. Restore health and function of carious, fractured, otherwise defective teeth.
Perform routine preventive, periodontal, oral surgery, endodontic, and prosthodontic treatment.
Provide consultation services. Performs comprehensive dental functions. Performs complex dental treatment procedures in the absence of specialist.
May serve as preceptor for general dentistry residency programs.
Summary: Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases, abnormalities, injuries, and dysfunctional disorders of the oral cavity and its associated structures.

Position Requirements/Qualifications: 
1. A doctor of dental surgery or a doctor of dental medicine degree from an American Dental Association accredited college or university.
2. Possess and maintain an active, valid unrestricted, current dental license (with no limitations, stipulations or pending adverse actions) in a U.S. jurisdiction. License must correspond to Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number.
3. Possess a valid DEA number in order to write prescriptions for controlled substances.
4. One (1) year of experience performing clinical dentistry out of the last 18 months
