We are seeking a qualified Dental Hygienist for an available contract opportunity to provide services to the student body at the North Texas Job Corps Center, a residential training and education institution located at 1701 North Church Street, McKinney, TX 75069.

Facility Information: Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 25 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. Job Corps Centers have classroom facilities, hands on trade education, cafeteria, health services, recreational facilities, and dormitories. During the students’ enrollment (typically during 8 months), Job Corps assists students in attaining and maintaining optimal health by providing basic on-Center health services to include promotion, prevention, assessment, intervention, and follow-up care. In addition, Job Corps strives to educate students regarding the connection between maintaining a healthy lifestyle and being employable. Student populations range from 100 to over 300 enrollments depending on the Center’s On Board Strength (OBS). Job Corps is a selfpaced program: therefore, a student’s length of enrollment varies. Students may remain in the program for up to two years, but the average length of enrollment is approximately eight months.
 
Work Schedule: Dental Hygienist Services will be provided in the amount of 20 hours per week, 48 to 50 weeks per year.

Period of Performance:  The parties mutually agree that this agreement shall be in effect through May 31, 2019 with the possibility of 3 year extensions at the discretion of the Center Director.

Basic Scope of Work (includes but it is not limited to):
The Dental Hygienist will assist the Dentist in overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of the total Center oral health and wellness program.
Perform preliminary oral examination; take bitewing and periodical X-Rays;
Perform prophies, scale and root plane;
Oral hygiene instructions including chair-side counseling on brushing,     flossing and nutrition;
Education on hazards and risks of smokeless tobacco;
Process own instruments and tray set-ups;
Chart documentation (existing restorations, missing teeth, lesions), and;
Classifying occlusion
Work closely with the Wellness Director (WD) and Center Dentist(s) to ensure the previously listed services are provided to Job Corps trainees.
Collect data and prepare reports as required by the Center Director and/or the Department of Labor. 
Cooperate with Corporate and Regional Office Center Assessments. 
Maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of all required oral health and wellness records when they are in the subcontractor’s presence. 
Provide support to the students in acquiring the oral health-related skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will make them employable. 
Promote opportunities for the students to practice the skills that will help make them employable. 
Comply with Job Corps infection control policies and procedures. 

Position Requirements/Qualifications
License: Must have an active state Dental Hygienist license.
