We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant for an available contract opportunity to provide services for the inmates incarcerated at FCI Texarkana, Texas.

Available Position: Dental Assistant

Place of Performance: Federal Correctional Institution,  4001 Leopard Drive, Texarkana, Texas 75501 

Work Schedule:   Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period (if applicable). The facility is expected to require an average of 8 hours per day, for each Dental Assistant, working five (5) days a week. The Dental Assistant’s schedule shall not exceed 40 hours per week

Period of Performance: 5 years contract.

Responsible for provision of the services listed below:
All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Dental Assistant Services, and compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations. 
The Dental Assistants must possess the ability to assist the Dental Officer in all aspects of chair-side dental assistance in the following dental specialty sections:  restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and examinations. In addition they must collect and track data and enter data into the agency’s electronic system and track scheduling of patient care and must have knowledge and experience in maintaining patient medical records and confidentiality, retrieve patient’s records and escorts patients to proper dental specialty section; seats and prepares patient for attending Dental Officer and all other related office, equipment and patient duties.
Education and Experience:
The Dental Assistant shall possess specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school.  Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety. 
The Dental Assistant shall be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association and have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Dental Assistant services.
