We are seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist for an available contract opportunity to provide services for the inmates incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Victorville in California.

Available Positions: Certified Radiology Technologist.
 
Work to be performed at:  The Health Services department at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC), Victorville, CA 92394.

Facility Information: 
FCC Victorville is located approximately 85 miles northeast of Los Angeles on Interstate 15.
The Victorville Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) consists of three main facilities:
 1. FCI Victorville: A medium security Federal Correctional Institution housing male inmates.
2. FCI Victorville: A medium security Federal Correctional Institution housing male inmates with a satellite prison camp that houses minimum security female offenders.
3. USP Victorville: A high security United States Penitentiary housing male inmates.
 
Work Schedule: Will work 30 hours per week., Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am to 2:00pm, excluding federal holidays. (This anticipated schedule includes a 30 minute non-paid lunch break). Due to the nature of the correction environment, delays in performance may be expected.

Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to):
  1. Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff for the inmate population at the FCC/FPC Victorville, California.
  2. Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.
  3. Schedule exams.
  4. Maintain records.
  5. Knowledge of federal and state regulatory laws concerning the radiology.
  6. Knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
  7. Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam.
  8. Independently perform all radiographic procedures; i.e., chest, bone, skull, spines, and portable X-Rays, etc.
  9. Notify Radiologist, or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views, or exams can be ordered if needed.
  10. Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.
  11. Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
  12. Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
  13. Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services.
  14. Develop a working knowledge of FCC Victorville medical protocols.
  15. Wear outer protective clothing and obey Center for Disease Control (CDC) universal precautions at all times.
  16. Assist the medical records department with administrative functions.
  17. The current radiological equipment provided at the FCC is analog machine. Knowledge of digital equipment is preferred but not required.
  18. The contractor shall be capable of performing any and all radiology procedures needed without any technical support.
Period of Performance: From date of hire until January 31, 2018 and may be extended, upon acceptable performance and all necessary state reviews and approvals.
 
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
License: Must possess a certification issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Certification: Must also have current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
