Global Health Care Group is looking for contract Dental Assistant to provide services for the inmates incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood, in Littleton, Colorado.

Work Hours: The contractor(s) will normally work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (except Federal holidays). The hours of operation are based on facility need. A duty day will be at the discretion of the Dental Officer and/or the HSA. The two normal shifts are either 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period) or 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period). A session will be equal to one (1) hour. The facility is expected to require an average of (6) sessions per day. The Dental Assistant's schedule shall not exceed 30 hours per week. Work hours will be at a time mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the Health Services Administrator (HSA) or their designees. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. In the event of a long term absence, the contractor will provide replacement coverage

Work to be performed at:  The Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood, located at 9595 W Quincy Ave, Littleton Colorado 80123. Services will be performed in the pharmacy located within the Health Services Department of the FCI.

Facility Information: The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood in Littleton, Colorado, is a low security facility housing male offenders. The institution also has an administrative detention center and an adjacent satellite prison camp for minimum security male offenders. FCI Englewood is located 15 miles southwest of Denver, off U.S. Highway 285 and South Kipling Street.

Performance Periods: 60 months.  It is anticipated that BPA award will be made in January 2019 with an effective date of June 1, 2019.

Description of Duties
Assists Dental Officer in dental specialty sections: restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and examinations, to include the triage of patient care for the expressed purpose of assisting the Dental Officer with appointment flow.
Assists Dental Officer by preparing dental instruments, essential materials, drugs, and medications
Passes instruments, retracts tissues, irrigates oral cavity, and operates aspirator
Responsible for all patient related duties.
The Dental Assistant must possess the ability to collect and track pertinent patient data, enter the data into the agency's electronic system, and track and monitor the scheduling of patient care.
The Dental Assistant must have knowledge and experience in maintaining patient medical records and confidentiality
The dental assistant will wear professional clothing appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contractor will be performing; scrub uniforms are acceptable.
Education and Experience
The Dental Assistant shall possess specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school. Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety. The Dental Assistant shall maintain current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the with the basic life support authority and have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Dental Assistant services. Bilingual oral communication skills and experience in a clinical correctional setting are desirable, but not mandatory. The contractor must provide evidentiary documentation of required certification.
