Available Position: One full-time Radiology Technician.

Work to be performed at:  I.H.S. Kyle Health Center, Kyle, South Dakota.

Work Schedule: Full-time, forty (40) hour work week Monday through Friday, excluding the first Friday of the month and Government observed holidays. Flexible work hours, from 8 am to 4:30 pm or 4 pm to 10 pm. A typical clinic day will involve examining 10 patients (range 8-15).

Period of Performance: 01/04/2019 through 05/17/2019

Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to):
  1. Provide examination for all patients presenting to the Radiology Department after being examined by a Health Care provider.
  2. Independently operates a fixed radiology machine to meet the needs of the department.
  3. Receives patients, explains methods of procedures, positions and sets technical factors to attain a high quality radiograph.
  4. Performs CR (Centricity) duties to include creating image, performing QC on images on the screen to verify films, uses the digital processor and prepare the images for transmittal to PACS at Pine Ridge. Performs film download to CD for patient referral.
  5. Maintains a quality control system for the automatic film processor on a daily basis to meet all M/M, HIPAA and JCAHO standards. This includes a sensitometer and densitometer on a daily basis and log results on the “daily Log Sheet” in the appropriate manual.  
  6. Performs a variety of routine to complex examinations to meet the needs of the medical staff, as well as, the needs of the specialty clinic physicians.  
  7. Assists the Radiology Supervisor in maintaining records of all functions at this department and keeps documentation on file as required by HIPAA and CMS/JCAHO.
  8. Notifies staff of any repairs or downtime of equipment.
  9. Maintain accurate records of patient workload examinations on a daily basis.
  10. Monitors all of his/her radiographs and sonograms taken to assure high quality.
  11. Keeps accurate records for every x-ray and sonogram, which has to be repeated and lists reasons why.
  12. Must be able to assist in a cardiac arrest situation (CPR or BLS certification is required).
  13. Ultrasound procedures are provided on a schedule basis to best accommodate the radiology hours of business.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
License: Must have a current ARRT license.
Education: Must have graduated from an approved Radiology Technician program.
Certifications: CPR or BLS certification is desired.
Language Skills: Must speak English proficiently.
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen or a Permanent Resident (Green Card).
Background Check: A background check and fingerprints are require din order to obtain security clearance.
Professional References: Minimum of two to three references regarding related work with contact information.  Must provide names and phone numbers to be used by the government to verify actual experience.
