We are looking for two Administrative Assistants for a contract position in Albany, New York.

Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Department:  New York State OPWDD
Office: Office of Investigations and Internal Affairs
Location: 1001 W. Fayette Street, Syracuse

Work Shifts: Monday – Friday, excluding NYS Holidays, 8 am to 4 pm, 37.5 hrs/wk.

Assignment Duration: 12/03/2018 to 12/02/2019

Position Description:
Some of the job duties and responsibilities are:
• Screen and Direct Incoming Calls
• Assist with scanning and uploading documents and reports into the VCPR and IAMS
• Provide support to and interact with two investigators located in Syracuse, and other investigators in other regions as required • Work with PDF documents and files, scanning and emailing • Edit documents for grammar and content • Scheduling interviews and interrogations
• Type interviews and interrogations from audio recordings
• Follow-up on assigned projects with limited oversight
• Any other administrative support activities which support the office and staff in field stations throughout the Region

Preferred Skill Sets:
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in highly sensitive work
• Ability to work independently and ask for direction when necessary
• Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues
• Computer literacy
• Ability to learn new computer programs quickly with appropriate assistance and support
• Working knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook
• Typing at least 55 wpm
• Multi-tasker
