We are seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for an available contract opportunity to perform services at the Northern Navajo Medical Center located in Shiprock, New Mexico.

Available Positions:  Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Place of Performance:  Northern Navajo Medical Center located in Shiprock, New Mexico.
 
Work Shifts: Day Shift - 7 am to 3:30 pm

On Call (carrying the pager)
Weeknight hours 3:30 pm to 7 am
Weekend hours: Friday from 3:30 pm to 7 am Saturday, Saturday from 7 am to 7 am Sunday, and Sunday from 7 pm to 7 am Monday.

Period of Performance:  January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019.

 
Position Requirements/Qualifications:Initial Appointment Requirements 

Education: The CRNA must possess a current valid, unsuspended, unrevoked, unlimited, unrestricted, unchallenged license to practice medicine in any state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or Territory of the United States. 

Licensure: Must possess and maintain current State licensure while employed with Indian Health Service NS must possess a current DEA Licenses 

Tour of Duty: 
Weekday Shift Monday thru Friday 7am- 3:30pm 
*Call-back and On Call (carrying pager) 
Monday thru Friday and weekends 3:30pm -7am 
Saturday/Sunday/Holiday 24hours 
*All On-Call shall be paid as a separate rate 
Contractor must and is required to take a 30 minute break-non compensated 
Contractor cannot volunteer to work in other departments must stay in assigned area. 

Requirements: 
Must possess a valid, current, full and unrestricted license from any State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States. 
Must be Board Certified, preferable in Family related medicine and demonstrate clinical experience. 
Must be a US Citizen 
The contractor must retain certification and licensure status throughout the term of the contract. 
Contractor shall furnish a current immunization for MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) Diphtheria and Tetanus and DT Booster, PPD Status, or as required by NA-HIS immunization policy. 
Contractor shall provide documents to complete security procedures to include finger print cards prior to the start date. 
Contractor is subject to character investigation as required by Public Law 101-630 The Indian Health Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act Prior to performance of a contract. 
Must have at least 52 weeks of experience as a CRNA.

Client background: 
Many of the patients service may only speak a native language and reside on the reservation. The contractor should be able to show sensitivity to cross cultural and language differences. The contractor must have the ability work with interpreters in some cases for non-English speaking patients. In situations, where interpretation is required, the Northern Navajo Medical Center staff will provide these services. 

Clinical Privileges: 
The contractor must be credentialed and clinical privileges granted by the Northern Navajo Medical Centers Chief Medical Officer or designee prior to providing services. The contractor must obtain the appropriate forms for privileging from the Northern Navajo Medical Centers Chief Medical Officer upon award of this contract. 

No government housing available. There are motels, restaurants, mall, etc. in nearby town of Farmington, NM and Cortez, CO.
