Global Empire, LLC (GHG) is a Healthcare Staffing Company specialized in providing reliable and qualified healthcare professionals for Government contracts nationwide. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner for an available contract opportunity to provide services for the inmates incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary in Lewisburg, PA.

Available Position: Nurse Practitioner

Place of Performance:  Services will be performed on-site in the Health Services Department of the United States Penitentiary (USP), located at 2400 Robert Miller Drive, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania 17837. 

Work Schedule: The contractor will normally work seven (7) hours per day, four (4) days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will normally be between 6:00 AM and 1:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 30 hours per week.

Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to):
The contractor shall be responsible for, but is not limited to:
Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate
Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and xrays
Make a diagnosis, provide treatment plans and prescribe medications
Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing
Attend to medical emergencies
Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapy
Emergency consultation to be performed by the contractor in instances where deemed necessary. Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits
Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans
Assists in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care services
Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems
Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call; which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations
Provides a wide range of emergency services, in the absence of the physician
Attire: The contractor is expected to wear professional clothing while on duty (scrub uniforms, cargo pants, and polo shirts are approved). The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employee will be performing.
Inmate Management: Provision of services will require frequent and unsupervised contact with inmates. The contract employee shall NOT be responsible for the management of any inmates, other than to ensure inmates involved within the contract’s scope of work abide by all rules to ensure their safety and well-being. 

Education and Experience: 
The Nurse Practitioner must be certified to practice medicine in the State of Pennsylvania. Providing verification of credentials (education, current licensor/status competency, continuing medical education), and proof of malpractice insurance, as required by AAAHC.
