Global Health Care Group is looking for a Temporary Pharmacist to provide services for the inmates incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary (USP) Canaan, in Waymart, PA.

Work to be performed at:  Health Services Units at USP Canaan, Waymart, Pennsylvania.
 
Facility Information: The United States Penitentiary-Canaan is a high security institution housing male inmates, with a satellite camp that houses male minimum security inmates. The facility is located in the most northeastern county in Pennsylvania, 20 miles east of Scranton, and 134 miles north of Philadelphia.
 
Work Schedule: 120 days in a 24 months period (60 days per year), working 8 hours per day.

The contractor will provide pharmacist services during the absence of the institution's  pharmacist,  i.e. during periods of annual leave, sick leave,  and training, as well as reassignment. The contractor will normally work, Monday through Friday (except for Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7: 30 a. m. and 4: 00 p. rn.,  with thirty (30) minutes  unpaid lunch period, (if applicable). A session will equal one (1)  hour. Each contractor visit will normally  consist of eight (8)  sessions. The Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR)  will be responsible  for defining the weekly schedule. These schedules are subject to change based on the variable needs of the institution and the unpredictable  nature of the correctional  environment. Upon agreement,  any changes to the schedules must be coordinated with the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) assigned under the contract.
 
Temporary Pharmacist Services provided by the company will include the following:
a. Interpreting  medical/dental   staff prescription orders. These orders may be the traditional  physical prescription  or orders taken from entries of the patient's electronic medical file.
b. Entering  prescriptions into the pharmacy's prescription computer system and printing prescription  labels;
c. Selecting  the correct  medication  and filling  the prescriptions;
d. Inventorying medications  and supplies, recording items that are low in stocking levels, and advising the Health Services Administrator and/or Assistant Health Services Administrator of medications that need ordering;
e. Interacting   with inmates regarding their medications and providing patient education about the medication and;
 
Position Requirements/Qualifications: 
License: Must possess a state pharmacist license.
Certification: Must also have current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Education: Must have graduated from an accredited pharmacy school.
