We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for an available contract opportunity to provide services at the Indian Health Services, Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility, located in Chinle, Arizona.
Available Position: Registered Nursing Services – Outpatient Adult Internal Medicine

Place of Performance: Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility in, Chinle, AZ 86503.

Work Shifts: The Supervisor at each IHS facility shall determine specific tour of duty. The contractor shall work 100% of the contracted hours. Contractor shall work Monday to Friday 0800 – 1700, following unit’s hours of 8 hour shifts totaling 40 hours a week s scheduled by the SCN. Contractor shall be scheduled to work one to two evening shifts a week from 1700 to 1900. 
Work Flexibility: As directed by the Supervisor, the Contractor shall rotate into other duty sections as needed to support patient care.

Period of Performance:  11/01/2018 through 10/31/2019.

Basic Scope of Work (includes but it is not limited to):
A. Provide full range of emergency care to patients of all age ranges.
B. Exercise Knowledge of the nursing procedures and its application to clinical practices in order to provide individualized, goal oriented nursing care to the adult patient.
C. Exercise knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory, principles, practices, and techniques in order to plan and provide quality nursing care which meets the physical, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the Indian patient.
D. Exercise knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illness in order to recognize complications and implement appropriate therapeutic intervention required.
E. Exercise knowledge of the medications and dosages in order to recognize their desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use.
F. Exercise knowledge of childhood immunizations, vaccines and up to date patient education resources and information.
G. Analyze the results of various medical procedures and translate them into appropriate nursing interventions.
H. Work effectively and harmoniously within the health care teams and with Native American patients and their families.
I. Inter-Facility Transports. J. Contractor shall follow facility policies and procedures, JACHO, OSHA, I.H.S. and other federal licensing, accreditations, and regulating body standards.
K. Coordinate care teams, offer guidance, and support to team members.
L. Teach and offer appropriate health education to staff, patients, and customer owners.
M. Perform clinical procedures, intravenous access, and phlebotomy, point of care laboratory testing, IVIG infusions, EKG, SVN Respiratory Treatments and response to emergency codes.

Position Requirements/Qualifications
License: Applicants must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Education: Degree or diploma from an accredited professional nursing program. 
Life Saving Certifications: Current certification in BLS, BUS, ACLS, and NRP are required.
