We are seeking an experience Pharmacist Technician for an available contract opportunity to provide services for the Department of Corrections Pharmacy located in Waupun, WI.

Available Position: Certified and Non Certified Pharmacy Technician

Place of Performance: The Department of Corrections (DOC) Pharmacy located in Waupun, WI.
Work Schedule: Contracted staff shall provide services for up to eight (8) hours per day, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:00AM to 6:00PM.  Contracted staff will be required to take an unpaid 30 minute lunch break if they work more than six hours per day.  Contracted staff shall not flex their working hours without DOC approval by the Pharmacy Director or designee.
Contract Period of Performance:  The contract term will be for two (2) years, with options to renew the contract for three (3) additional one-year terms, for a total term of five (5) years.
Basic Scope of Work (includes but it is not limited to): Provide temporary, as needed, pharmacy technician services to cover vacant DOC staff positions in the DOC Pharmacy located in Waupun, WI.  The pharmacy dispenses approximately 800,000 medication scripts per year. BHS Central Pharmacy has a total allocation of approximately 50 FTE positions with the following breakdown of staff:  Pharmacists 20 FTEs (8.5 permanent and 11.5 agency) and Pharmacy Technicians 27.5 FTEs (10 permanent, 10.5 LTE, 7 agency). 

Certified and Non Certified Pharmacy Technician Duties 
  1. Prepare prescriptions for delivery.
    • Select medication from bulk or prefilled pill card stock according to prescription label
    • Prepare and label pill card and bulk products
    • Present completed prescription order for final check by the pharmacist.
    • Assist in preparing daily orders for shipment or pickup.
    • Assist with unpacking and putting away shipments from suppliers
    • Assist with inventory and re-ordering of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
B.        Maintenance of clean and orderly work areas.
  • Keep furniture, equipment and storage areas clean.
  • Keep drug supplies and inventory items stored in neat and orderly fashion. Make sure supplies are in the right location.
  • Check for outdated dings.


  • Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhT) shall be licensed/registered. 
  • Must have graduated form an accredit pharmacy technician school or program.
  • No license requirement.
  • Must have graduated form an accredit pharmacy technician school or program.
