We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician for an available contract opportunity to provide services for the inmates incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution, Ashland, KY.

Available Position: Pharmacy Technician

Place of Performance: Federal Correctional Institution, Ashland, KY

Facility Information: FCI Ashland is a low security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp.

Work Schedule:  These services will be required five (5) days per week,normally consisting of six (6) hours per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays}, normally between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm,with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period, (if applicable}. The facility is expected to require an average of 40 hours per week.

Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to): 
Assisting the staff pharmacist in ordering, stocking, storing, and dispensing of prescription and non-prescription medications while demonstrating knowledge of the budgetary guidelines and BOP Formulary constraints. Maintaining pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion consistent with departmental safety and sanitation guidelines. Assistingthe pharmacist inmaintainingstock of up-to-date medications(checkingfor outdates per policy)intheMainPharmacy,SatelliteCamp,bothcrashcarts,Emergencybags andAutomated Dispensing systems. Assisting the Pharmacist with maintaining stock of forms as needed and updating Pill Line/Restricted Medication cards for inmates as well as filing Medication Administration Record's into the Medical Record. AssistingthePharmacistinpreparingunitdoseor pre-packagedmedications. Complete and maintain competency asindicated by ability to complete the Pharmacy Competency Module while maintaining knowledge of BOP Formulary and any changes to this document. Maintain the narcotics count along with the needle and syringe inventories. Maintain and re-stock adequate supplies for the "Night Stock" cabinet, and perform audits of said "Night Stock" or Automated Dispensing System.

Period of Performance: This is a five (5) years contract, renewed on an annual basis.
Position Requirements/Qualifications
The Individual providing Pharmacy Technician services under this contract award must have evidence of certification and/or training as a Pharmacy Technician; evidence of certification in Basic Life Support (CPR); evidence of past experience with performance of pharmacy technician duties: fills,pharmacy computer skills, maintaining stock inventories; three (3)letters of reference; experience of the position greater than three years in a correctional setting.Correctional experience is required.
Uniform Requirements: The Contractors must wear appropriate and professional attire at all times. The Contractor is prohibited from wearing khaki or green clothing of any type as this is the color clothing the inmate population wear.
