GHG is looking for Medical Assistants for an available contract opportunity to provide services to individuals who are under the custody and care of the Federal Bureau of Prisons within a secure correctional environment. 
Available Position: Three (3) Medical Assistants - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).

Place of Performance: Services will be performed in the Health Services Department of the FCI, 33 ½ Pembroke Station, Route 37, Danbury, CT, 06811

Facility Information:  FCI Danbury is a low security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp. Inmate Gender: Female offenders. Population: 309 inmates.

Work Schedule: Each contractor Medical Assistant will normally work eight (1) hours per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will be at a time mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the Health Services Administrator (HSA) or their designees. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 40 hours per week for each Medical Assistant.

Period of Performance:  This is a five (5) years contract (a one year base performance period and four additional one year performance periods at the unilateral discretion of the Government).

Basic Scope of Work (includes but it is not limited to):   The contractor will provide medical assistant services for those inmate patients referred to them by the Health Services Department at the Federal Correctional Institution. Services rendered shall be professional in nature, provided consistent with community standards of care.

These services will include the following:
(1) Maintenance of BEMR (Bureau Electronic Medical Records) clinic and scheduling of patients.
(2) Contractor shall make medical record entries (on forms provided by the institution medical staff) that provide all information pertaining to the services rendered (e.g., specimen(s) obtained). This includes record keeping, management of reports and communication of reports to health care providers.
(3) The clinical responsibilities can include: Preparing patients for examinations, taking medical histories and screening (i.e. vital, O2 Sat etc.), assist in Urgent Care situations, assisting the physician during examinations, explaining medical procedures to patients, collect laboratory specimens, sterilize medical instruments (4) The clerical assignments can include: Answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting patients, sorting mail, inventory and other duties assigned.
(5) Reporting any problems arising in regards to medical assistant services to the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) or the HSA. (6) Perform other duties assigned by health care providers, HSA, & administrative staff to assist with performing health care functions.

Experience: Minimum of six to twelve months experience in respective specialty, preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent & documented technical training as a medical assistant.
Licensure: Not Required
Required Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.
