Available Position: Medical Office Clerk - Non-personal services, Full-Time Equivalent (FTE). 

Work Location: 4th Medical Group, Seymour Johnson AFB, Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), North Carolina 27531. The Contractor will work in the Resource Management Office of the MTF.

Period of Performance: This position will be for one (1) year, with an option to extend it up to two (2) years.  The anticipated start date for the office clerk is 1 June 2018. 

Background: The mission of the military healthcare system (MHS) is to ensure the nation has available at all times a healthy military force supported by a combat ready healthcare system. Health care services for eligible MHS beneficiaries are provided at MTFs located on or near military installations or posts. The MTF may be a clinic, hospital, or medical center. Clinics are outpatient facilities offering primary care or simple specialty care (routine exams, tests, treatments). The clinic may be a stand-alone site or a satellite of a larger clinic, hospital, or medical center. The 4th Medical Group’s mission is to deliver ready medics and quality care.

Scope of Work: .  This position provides clerical/administrative support in the Referral Management Center for customer service, referral tracking, referral appointing, and reporting activities. This position will support the daily functions of specialty care referral appointing, referral review and coordination, beneficiary counseling and referral tracking at the MTF.


Mandatory knowledge and skills: 
A fully qualified typist with a minimum of 50 WPM is required. 
General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.  
General office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties and answer telephones. 
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Education.  High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.  Completion of an Administrative Assistant program is desired. 
Experience.  At least 6 months of experience in medical office setting.
