We are seeking experienced 
Registered Nurses for an available contract opportunity to provide services in the Ambulatory Care Clinic at Indian Health Services, Four Corners Regional Health Center, Red Mesa, Arizona.

Available Position: Registered Nurse (RN).
Work to be performed at:  Ambulatory Care Department, Outpatient Clinic at Indian Health Services, Four Corners Regional Health Center, Red Mesa, Arizona.

Work Shifts: The shifts hours are 8 hours from 7:30am - 4:00pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Government does not guarantee a specific shift to any individual(s), shift hours shall greatly depend on patient case load. 

Period of Performance:  date of hire through 12/31/2018

Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to):  
  • Knowledge of triage and disaster management.
  • knowledge of the culture, customs and health problems of the American Native population.
  • Provide initial resuscitative efforts that include airway stabilization, assist in intubations, assist in central line setups, initiations of IV Fluids, IV Medications, and Defibrillation.
  • Observes, assesses, and stabilizes urgent patients from newborns, infant, toddlers, young adult, older adult and geriatric patient’s health status by physical assessment and examination.
  • Interviews the patient and family members and reviewing patients health history on providing on-going monitoring.
  • Interprets data obtained from observations, examinations, and distinguishes between normal and abnormal findings and provides appropriate care measures. For example, EKG strips, lab values, Vital Signs, etc.
  • Operates and monitors specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, EKG machines, gastric suctions, hypothermic device (Bear Hugger), Phillips Defibrillator, Phillips Heartstart Monitor, Rapid Fluid Infuser, and Phillips ER Patient Monitoring System.
  • Be able to assist in operating the Phillips Fetal Heart Monitoring System and the Portable Ultrasound machine.
  • Functions as a charge nurse of the Ambulatory Care Clinic.
  • Responsible for maintaining Ambulatory Care Clinic patient flow and efficiency in order to ensure unit safety, patient confidentiality, and to expedite onset of treatment for extremely ill patients.
  • Function as a primary nurse when a cardiac or respiratory arrest occurs, or functions as an intravenous therapy resource person in all areas of the facility as needed.
  • Contributes to the multi-disciplinary Quality Improvement Program of the Ambulatory Care Clinic in participating/submitting a Performance Improvement Project Monthly.
Position Requirements/Qualifications
License:  Must have a current RN license from the state of Arizona.
Education:  Degree or diploma from an accredited nursing program (SDN, BSN or MSN).
Certifications: Optional: TNCC, NRP, ENPC. Required: ACLS, PALS, BLS.  
Required Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience in the Ambulatory Care Clinic.
Professional References: Minimum of three references regarding related work with contact information.  Must provide names and phone numbers to be used by the government to verify actual experience.
