Available Position: Radiologic Technician

Place of Performance:  Health Services Department located in the Health Services Units at AUSP/SCP Thomson, located at 1100 One Mile Road, Thomson, Illinois 61285. 

Facility Information:  AUSP Thomson is an administrative security U.S. penitentiary with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp.

Work Schedule: The contractor will normally work Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period. The facility is expected to require an average of six hours per day, 30 hours per week. The Contracting Officer Representative (COR) will determine the actual hours of work.
Contract Duration: this is a 5 years contract, renewed annually.

Description of Responsibilities – Radiology Technician
The contractor shall be capable of performing any and all radiology procedures needed without any technical support.
The contractor shall be responsible for the provision of the services as listed, but not limited to the following:
Maintain a daily x-ray imaging schedule.
Work closely with the medical providers in the efficient scheduling of inmates according to medical need.
Ensures documentation to include requisition orders, NMOS orders, x-ray results, abnormal results, and other diagnostic reports are accurate, retrieve, schedule, process, manually enter and or scan in the Bureau 's Electronic Medical Record (BEMR) in a timely manner.
Through applied medical terminology knowledge and in conjunction with in-house providers and consultants orders, ensures patients are schedule timely and correctly.
Notify referring provider of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views or exams can be ordered if needed.
Maintain a cataloging system for the filing of x-ray images stored in a compact disc format. Maintain accurate logs of all x-rays images taken to include a systematic record of all retakes in accordance with Bureau of Prisons policies and accreditation agency standards.
Provide monthly statistical reports of x-rays orders, x-rays taken, and retakes for quality assurance purposes.
Perform an accurate and consistent inputting or scanning of radiologic information and reports in the BEMR record.
The Contractor will acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services policies, processes and Unit procedures necessary to accomplish the mission described herein, ensuring that the XRay
Procedure Manual is updated accordingly.
The Contractor will assist the Health Services Administrator or his/her designee in the coordination of equipment maintenance and ordering of necessary supplies.
The Contractor will perform and maintain records of the required biannual testing of all x-ray aprons.

Education and Qualifications Radiology Technician
The contract employee shall be fully licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist.
Must have graduated from and accredited school of radiology technology.
The Contractor must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certified, in accordance with the American Red Cross of American Heart Association.
