Available Positions: Ten (10) Certified Nursing Assistant(s) to provide services to the inmate population located in Fort Worth, Texas.

Work Schedule: The work schedule will normally consist of eight (8) or twelve (12) hour shifts with CNA coverage twenty-four hours seven days a week, including Federal holidays. The CNA may be assigned to work any shift within a 24 hour period to include weekends and holidays. Performance of contract is to begin on a date mutually acceptable to the government and the Contractor. The CNA may be asked to alter his/her schedule to meet program needs. With the provision that the total number of hours worked may not exceed 40 hours per week without approval from the South Central Regional Office.

Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to): 
A) Checks patient vital signs and weights and documents this data and pertinent observations in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR). Documents patient care provided and other pertinent data in the EMR, flowsheet, and/or graphic sheet.
B) Performs other duties as directed, including but not limited to filing and/or scanning medical documents into patient’s EMR, etc.
C) Collect and process Urinalysis. Empty patient’s urinal unless otherwise instructed by nursing staff.
D) Assist with the patient’s activities of daily living (ADL) to include toileting, bathing showering, dressing, putting on shoes, oral hygiene, facial cleansing, grooming, personal hygiene to include diapering and/or cleaning the patient after episodes of bowel or bladder incontinence.
E) Will assist with patient transfers, bed mobility, and/chair repositioning as assigned.
F) Utilize appropriate body mechanics when transferring and/or assisting patients. Safely transports patients in wheelchairs and/or on gurneys.
G) Assist patients to call-outs, insulin line, pill line, dining room, and other approved areas of the institution.
H) Maintain all patients’ room in a clean and orderly state.
I) Conduct thirty minute rounds while on shift and be available for patient care needs. Perform fall watch to ensure assigned patients are safe. Report all safety concerns to appropriate nursing staff. Answers patient call lights and communicates patients’ concerns to nursing.
J) Report any perceived changes in the patient’s condition such as changes in mental status, eating habits, muscle strength, fevers, vital signs and/or increased pain to unit nursing staff immediately.
K) Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification and initiates BLS measures in emergency situations

Qualifications:   
1. Certification of completion obtained through a Nursing Assistant certification program
2. Current BLS certification.
