We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist for an available contract opportunity to provide services for the Indian Health Services, Tsaile Health Center Outpatient Department in Tsaile, AZ.
 
Clinic Hours:  The Tsaile Health Center has 9,031 registered clients. Clinic hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed on holidays). Weekend work is limited to two 13 hour emergency room shifts per month at the main hospital (Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility), 25 miles west of the Health Center. The Health Center is adjacent to Dine’ College, the first Indian Tribe-controlled College established in the United States. Routine outpatient services are provided to a broad range of patients including prenatal and geriatrics. We have a satellite clinic called Rock Point Clinic which we send a medical provider along with nursing staff, health techs to accommodate the Rock Point community.

Period of Performance: Period of Performance: 04/09/18 through 10/31/18. The assignment is through the stated period of performance or until the position is filled with a permanent hire.

Housing is currently not available, but there are hotels in the immediate area. Upon selected Contractor will be placed on waiting list to acquire Government quarters. 

Pharmacist Duties:
The Contractor shall perform pharmacist duties and work under the general technical administrative supervision of the Tsaile Health Center Pharmacy Supervisor.
As a Pharmacist you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to American Indian and Alaska Native beneficiaries. Duties include comprehensive professional nursing services to patients with variety of injuries and illnesses, perform a wide range of care for patients in all age groups with different health related problems, prepares patients for tests, exams, treatments, etc. provides counseling and teaching to patients and families on preventive, curative, rehabilitative measures, maintain professional knowledge and proficiency in continuing education, attends staff meetings and workshops in the nursing filed and may be called upon to our satellite clinic if needed. Our facility is seeking individuals who possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work, a demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.

Facility Information: Tsaile Health Center is located in Northeast Arizona as a part of the Chinle Service Unit. This ambulatory care center is situated at the base of the Lukachukai Mountain rage with local elevations of 7,000 to 8,000 feet. Two lakes are within 10-15 minute drive which offer camping, fishing, and non-motorized boating. The Tsaile Health Center has 9,031 registered clients. Position Requirements/Qualifications
Experience. The Pharmacist shall have thirty-six (36) months of pharmacist experience, with a minimum of twelve months (12) in the specialty required by the contract, unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer.
License/Registration. All pharmacist shall be board certified or board eligible in family practice and possess a current, valid, unrestricted physician license in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
Certifications. Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) is mandatory.
Orientation. All pharmacist providing service under this contract shall attend mandatory orientations and training specified by the government.
