Background: Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) provides a comprehensive array of inpatient and outpatient cancer treatment services, as well as a wide variety of cancer research, education, and prevention activities, on a local, national, and international scale.  From its inception, RPCI’s mission – to understand, prevent and cure cancer – has remained consistent with the vision of its founder. RPCI was among the first to be designated a “Comprehensive Cancer Center” by the National Cancer Institute in 1974, and has held that designation ever since.  RPCI is also a charter member of the prestigious National Comprehensive Cancer Network (“NCCN”), an alliance of the nation’s leading cancer centers.  Many RPCI faculty members serve on the NCCN panels that create the Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology – the internationally recognized standards for clinical policy in oncology and the most comprehensive, most frequently updated clinical practice guidelines available in any area of medicine.

Contract Term: 3 years

Scope of Work:
  • Provide leadership, support and guidance related to testing and quality for the entire project team.
  • Provide training to the project team for HP ALM.
  • Act as an escalation point to junior team members on the project.
  • Handle multiple complex projects and assignments concurrently.
  • Provides testing leadership on large projects or initiatives.
  • Mentor IT QA Team members and share experience.
  • Review and provide oversight for documentation and plans produced by junior level IT QA Leads.
  • Attend IT QA peer review sessions to provide guidance and support to the IT QA team.
  • Provide training to IT QA team members on policies and procedures.  
  • Creates and presents Test Plans.
  • Creates and executes test scripts.
  • Creates and presents Production Readiness Assessments.
  • Development of test effort estimation based on requirements and scope, time, effort, and resources.
  • Develop test strategies that focus on both manual and automated testing.
  • Actively participate in requirements and design walkthroughs to ensure requirements are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable.
  • Reviews Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and Test Cases to understand the functional and technical requirements in order to test the application and verify those requirements are successfully met.
  • Work in conjunction with the business partners, analysts and development teams on test strategies and ensuring that applications meet requirements and are of high quality.
  • Leverage knowledge of multiple complex applications and provides subject matter expertise to set direction and create test strategies and test plans for multiple releases.
  • Manages project testing team of both internal and external resources.
  • Assign duties and monitor quality of work; assure staff follows ITQA best practices, methodologies, and processes.
  • Facilitates defect management, triage and prioritization meetings.
  • Accountable for the overall quality of major projects delivered to the business while analyzing, coordinating, and tracking test efforts.
