We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for an available contract opportunity to perform services at the Northern Navajo Medical Center located in Shiprock, New Mexico.

Available Position:  Registered Nurses - Ambulatory Care Department Outpatient Clinic - The shifts hours are 8 hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

Place of Performance:  Northern Navajo Medical Center located in Shiprock, New Mexico.

Work Shifts: The shifts hours are 8 hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. 
Period of Performance:   ASAP through December 31, 2018 
Position Requirements/Qualifications:

Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. 

Experience: The RN needs to have at least 2 years of clinical experience in professional nursing care principles, practice, and procedures. Must have knowledge of immunization, diabetes, a background in a clinic situation with a primary setting from newborn to elderly care with chronic medical problems and the ability to recognize signs and/or symptoms to quickly provide emergency care, if needed. 

Professional skills: 
- Ability to develop patient care plans 
- Ability to learn the different type of equipment needed for patient care 
- Knowledge of medications and adverse reactions 
- Ability to start an IV 
- Ability to triage 
- Ability to give children immunization 
- Ability to work with Electronic Health Record 
- Ability to float to other Outpatient Departments (MCH, Flu Clinic, and Fast Track) upon completion of a float competency skills checklist. This is merely a preference and not mandatory for this position. 

Equipment: Must be familiar with 12 lead EKG, defibrillators, non-invasive blood pressure, thermometers, oxygen canisters, and suction wall units. 

Licensure: Must possess and maintain current State licensure while employed with Indian Health Service (IHS). 

Certifications (MANDATORY): 
- a valid and unrestricted State Nursing License 
- a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification with American Heart Association
