We are seeking a licensed physician assistant (PA) or a nurse practitioner (NP) for an available contract opportunity to provide services at the Potomac Job Corp Center, located in Washington DC.

Place of Performance:  Potomac Job Corps Center, Washington DC, 20032.
Work Schedule: Part-time, 8 hours per week. Work will be performed during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, at times and days mutually agreed upon.
Period of Performance:
Base Year Base Period – (March 1, 2018 through October 31, 2018)
Option Period 1 – (November 1, 2018 through October 31, 2019
Option Period 2 – (November 1, 2019 through October 31, 2020)
Option Period 3 – (November 1, 2020 through October 31, 2021) 

Facility Information: Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 25 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Center has classroom facilities, hands on trade education, a cafeteria, health services, recreational facilities, and dormitories. During the students’ enrollment (typically about 8 months), Job Corps assists students in attaining and maintaining optimal health by providing basic on-Center health services to include promotion, prevention, assessment, intervention, and follow-up care. In addition, Job Corps strives to educate students regarding the connection between maintaining a healthy lifestyle and being employable.
Basic Scope of Work (includes but it is not limited to):
The development, implementation and monitoring of the total center health and wellness program, to help students become and stay employed, including advising the center director and health services staff on all medical and health related matters.   This shall include staffing requirements; the advisability of medical separations, including the furnishing of diagnosis, prognosis, and recommendations for future care; the utilization and cost of services; the personalization of patient care; and any other health areas deemed appropriate by the center PA/NP and the center director.
Developing a system to promote the coordination and integration of the health components (medical, oral health, mental health, environmental health, and health education) with other center activities.  
Providing direct medical services to students: A cursory medical inspection for each student within the first 48 hours after arrival on center, and a definitive medical examination and health history of each student within 14 days of arrival on center.  The medical examination will include the interpretation of all routine laboratory tests.  Although much of this work may be delegated, the center PA/NP maintains the ultimate responsibility for the quality of work performed. Diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury, including the center PA/NP's availability on center for acute illness and injury visits. Arrangements for preventive immunizations and detection and control of communicable diseases as specified in PRH‐6 and the Immunization and Communicable Disease Control TAG. Provision of all necessary referrals for specialist and institutional care and assisting in reviewing follow up information from such off‐center referrals. Providing a system of 24‐hour emergency back‐up coverage/referral.
Position Requirements/Qualifications
License: The PA or NP must be license/certified in The District of Columbia.
