Global Health Care Group is looking for a Certified Phlebotomist to provide services for the inmates incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Dublin, in Dublin, CA.

Facility Information: The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Dublin, California, is a low security facility housing female offenders. The institution also has an adjacent administrative detention facility housing adult males on holdover or pre-trial status, and a minimum security satellite camp housing adult female offenders. FCI Dublin is located 20 miles southeast of Oakland on the Camp Parks Army Reserve Forces Training Area (RFTA) Military Base.

Judicial District: Northern California.

Work Schedule: The facility is expected to require an average of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, between the hours of 7:30 am to:00 pm, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. The total number of hours shall not exceed 40 hours per week.

Period of Performance: five (5) years.

Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to):
  1. Collect laboratory specimens by venipuncture or skin puncture from patients for analysis or other medical purposes.  
  2. Adhere to the administrative guidelines of the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, and Bureau of Prisons policies as they relate.  
  3. Receive and organize requests for blood collection and package specimens for shipping to reference laboratories.  
  4. Distribute blood to proper laboratory section after collection for testing.  
  5. Gather supplies and equipment necessary for collection of blood sample. Ensure request for additional supplies are provided to Health Services Administrator or their designee.  
  6. Assemble equipment, such as tourniquet, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood collection devices, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work trays, according to requirements for specified test or procedures.  
  7. Clean laboratory glassware or other equipment.  
  8. Keep blood collection area and phlebotomy rays clean and restocked for future use.  
  9. Record blood collection statistics for documentation as required.  
  10. Adhere to safety and infection control procedures at all times.
Qualifications:
The phlebotomist be a Certified Phlebotomist and have a current license from the State of California.
The phlebotomist must either have completed a 12-week Lab Technician Program or an approved state program.
Must must have at least six (6) months experience as a Phlebotomist in a clinical setting.
Must must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
The phlebotomist shall provide a resume along with copy of all diplomas and/or certificates to support stated qualification.
The individual selected to perform these services must be able to pass a drug screening, law enforcement agency background check and a credit check.
