We are seeking a qualified CAT Scan/X-Ray Technologist   for an available contract opportunity to provide services at the Pine Ridge Indian Health Services Hospital, located in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.

Available Position: CAT Scan/X-Ray Technologist.
Work to be performed at:  Pine Ridge Hospital, PHS Indian Health Service, Pine Ridge, South Dakota 57770

Facility Information: The 45 bed Pine Ridge Hospital, serving a Sioux Indian population of more than 17,000, is the largest in the Aberdeen Area. A 16 physician staff sees medical, obstetrical, pediatric, and surgical patients. The facility located in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, includes full service general surgery, an obstetrical ward, and dental.

Work Schedule:  Full-time. Primary tour of duty will be various hour shifts Monday thru Sunday to include Holidays. There will be no shift differential. Overtime pay will not be allowed or approved. 

Period of Performance: date of hire through May 28,2018, and it may be extended upon acceptable performance and all necessary state reviews and approvals. 

Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to): The CAT Scan Technologist independently performs a wide range of CT studies utilizing mobile CT equipment, according to physician instructions. When there are no CTs to perform, the CT tech will keep busy performing Diagnostic Radiology or other departmental duties as assigned by the Radiology Supervisor.

Major duties are:
Receives and positions patients for examination.
Explains procedures makes sure patients cooperate during examination.
Advises radiologist or referring physician of results of examination and provides them with a preliminary diagnostic evaluation.
Notifies them of cases that required their immediate attention while patient is undergoing examination.
Selects, sets up, adjusts and operates equipment, including laser imager.
Determines the number of scans necessary to obtain the information desired.
Conducts examination, adjusting technique and equipment to best present the medically significant aspects found. Independently operates and fixed and portable radiography machine to meet the needs of the department.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
License:  Must be ARRT certified and have at least one (1) year of experience performing CT examinations.
Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
 Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience in performing CT examinations.
