We are seeking a Mental Health Provider for an available contract opportunity at the School Board of Broward County, Florida.

Available Position: Mental Health Provider - Bilingual Psychiatrist 

Work to be performed at: Psychiatric services are provided to students at Whispering Pines Separate Day School and Cross Creek School in Broward County, FL.

Work Schedule: Weekdays,  during regular school hours. Some evening hours may be required to accommodate counseling schedules with the families.

Period of Performance: July 1, 2018, and continuing through June 30, 2021. The term of the contract may, by mutual agreement between SBBC and the Awardee, be extended for two additional one-year periods and, if needed, 180 days beyond the expiration date of the renewal period.

Scope of Work:
Serve students with Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities (EBD), through the Exceptional Student Learning Support Department (ESLS), and as part of a therapeutic program identified in their Individual Educational Plan. Students identified as needing extensive therapeutic support will receive services to include but are not limited to, individual and group therapy, family therapy, specialized groups, crisis management and intervention, on-going situational support, and medication management. The services of a licensed child psychiatrist can be provided at the EBD Separate Day Schools rather than costly residential and private school placements. The District’s Separate Day School’s model of service is unique in utilizing the expertise of a trained medical doctor to identify and treat students with severe psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral problems. This model offers the on-site consultation by a team of clinicians composed of mental health therapists and nurses, led by an experienced medical doctor.

Board Certification – must have Board certification in child or adolescent psychiatry for each psychiatrist.
Experience – must provide documentation of a minimum of two years’ experience in providing psychiatric services to children or adolescents for each psychiatrist and any other relevant qualifications to provide the evaluations/consultations sought.
Bilingual Capability – must have bilingual capability in one or more of the following languages: English/Spanish, English/Haitian-Creole, English/French for each psychiatrist.
Educational Degree– shall provide evidence of the highest educational degree you posses.
Licensure – must have a current license, with the State of Florida to practice psychiatric services and Board Certification in the field of Psychiatry.
