Global Health Care Group is looking for a Radiologic Technologist to provide services for the inmates incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary (USP) Canaan, in Waymart, PA.
Available Positions: Certified Radiology Technician.

Work to be performed at:  Health Services Units at USP Canaan, Waymart, Pennsylvania.
Facility Information: Facility Information: The United States Penitentiary-Canaan is a high security institution housing male inmates, with a satellite camp that houses male minimum security inmates. The facility is located in the most northeastern county in Pennsylvania, 20 miles east of Scranton, and 134 miles north of Philadelphia.
Work Schedule: The Certified Radiology Technician will 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 2:00pm, excluding federal holidays. (This anticipated schedule includes a 30 minute non-paid lunch break).
Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to):
  1. Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff for the inmate population.
  2. Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.
  3. Schedule exams.
  4. Maintain records.
  5. Knowledge of federal and state regulatory laws concerning the radiology.
  6. Knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
  7. Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam.
  8. Independently perform all radiographic procedures; i.e., chest, bone, skull, spines, and portable X-Rays, etc.
  9. Notify Radiologist, or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views, or exams can be ordered if needed.
  10. Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.
  11. Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
  12. Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
  13. Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services.
  14. Develop a working knowledge of the UPS/FDC/FCI medical protocols.
  15. Wear outer protective clothing and obey Center for Disease Control (CDC) universal precautions at all times.
  16. Assist the medical records department with administrative functions.
  17. The current radiological equipment provided at the FCC is analog machine. Knowledge of digital equipment is preferred but not required.
  18. The contractor shall be capable of performing any and all radiology procedures needed without any technical support.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
License: Must possess a certification issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and a state license if applicable.
Certification: Must also have current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Education: Must have graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology school or program and be a high school graduate.
